Friends,
As I reflect upon the past 365 days and
my time as President of the Junior League
of Milwaukee, I realize that it has been
more than a year; it has been the chance
of a lifetime. Having the opportunity to
work alongside some of the most committed,
dedicated and hardworking women in Milwaukee;
is rewarding in itself. I am inspired by
their passion and desire to improve our
community.
This year has been full of incredible experiences.
There were so many, I don’t know where
to begin. From the fabulous fundraisers,
to the |

rewarding community
projects and don’t forget those energetic
new members, they really were a great group! They
are our future and it indeed, will be bright.
We had a record breaking Every Member Campaign
year and volunteer participation was stronger
than ever. To sum it up, the energy was strong.
While this is the final year of our financial
partnership with Kids Matter, Inc., I am thrilled
that the JLM and Kids Matter CASA decided to continue
our partnership for another five years, until
2013, this time through commitment and service.
We should feel proud of the Signature projects
that the League has initiated, dating back to
1947 when a wonderful group of Junior League women
responded to the needs of the community and funded,
organized and opened the Blood Center. Now the
Blood Center is a world -renowned research institution.
What will Kids Matter CASA look like in half a
century?
Now as I walk away from this intense year as
your President, I will remember the individual
commitment of each and every member of this wonderful
organization. While reading through the last issue
of UPDATE, you will see how these individual commitments
add up to one very successful year. I hope you
feel pride in all that is accomplished, when we
come together.
I thank you for trusting in me to serve as your
President; it has been my pleasure and honor.
I have received far more than I have given and
I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every moment.
Most of all, thank you to each and every member
of the Junior League of Milwaukee for your time,
commitment, service and your love for the League.
I leave you with these words……
