The Junior League of Milwaukee is proud to announce its Board of Directors for the 2020-2021 League Year.
Joely Urdan – President
Joely Urdan has been a member of the Junior League of Milwaukee since 2006. Joely has served on a wide variety of committees and in numerous leadership positions within the League, including recording secretary, president-elect, and president in 2014-2015, and on the Transformation Committee as one of the architects of the new board and management team. Since 2012, Joely has served as chief legal counsel for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Joely’s professional experience providing strategic and policy guidance to university leadership will be an incredible asset to the future of JLM. Joely has presented at numerous University of Wisconsin symposiums on legal issues and is a graduate of the Wisconsin Women in Government’s Graduate Leadership Seminar. Joely has been a member of Impact100 Greater Milwaukee since 2015 and has served on the board of Care Kits for Kids, a former JLM project.
Andi Sciacca– President Elect
Andi Sciacca fondly remembers accompanying her mother to JLM events when she was a young girl – and followed in her footsteps, becoming a member of the Junior League of Milwaukee in 2017. Andi served on the Done-in-a-Day committee before jumping into leadership as DIAD chair-elect. Professionally, Andi brings diverse outside board and leadership experiences to her role. Andi previously taught for Bard College, the City University of New York, the State University of New York, and served as a dean at The Culinary Institute of America (CIA). She is now the director of curriculum and program design for the CIA’s graduate program, The Food Business School, and currently teaches for MIAD. Andi also serves on the Board at Cultivate!MKE, mentors for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and is an advisory board member for The Commons and Co:Lab. She volunteers with programs focused on youth mentoring, workforce development, and food justice advocacy – and leads workshops on community-building with a focus on ethics and civil discourse.
Gwyn Wallander – Treasurer
Gwyn Wallander has been a Junior League of Milwaukee member for more than 20 years, and is currently a sustainer. During her time at the JLM, she has served in several leadership roles, including president, director of operations, nominating chair and co-chair of our 100th Anniversary Celebration. Outside of the JLM, Gwyn is a senior student services coordinator and pre-law advisor at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. She has served on both the Midwest Association of Pre-Law Advisors Board and the National Pre-Law Board (PLANC), having also been president and board chair respectively.
Mary Behler – Recording Secretary
Mary Behler has been a member of the Junior League of Milwaukee since 2015. She served on the Website Committee for several years, including as chair. The last two years, Mary served on Transformation Committee, which worked collaboratively with the League’s leadership and membership to implement our new governance structure.
Mary is a marketing content Manager at Associated Bank, the largest bank based in Wisconsin. She spearheads content strategy for the organization’s digital channels. Her background is in journalism, communications, social media and SEO. At Associated Bank, she also serves as a co-chair of the Associated Women’s Network’s Communications Committee. She is also involved with Tempo Milwaukee’s Emerging Women Leaders program.
Sibylle Tasker – Director-at-Large
Sibylle Tasker has been a Junior League member since 1999, originally joining in Palo Alto, CA. She transferred to the JLM in 2003 and has been an engaged member for the last 16 years. Her experience within the JLM includes Community Partnerships, Solicitations, 90th Anniversary Signature Project, and liaison to Kids Matter Inc. Sibylle became a Kids Matter Inc. Board member in 2005 and has been its board president since 2009. She has also volunteered with the Elm Grove Junior Guild and served as its executive board finance chair from 2007-2008 and president from 2009-2010. She has also volunteered with the Friends of Elm Grove Library, including as vice president and chair, served as the Tonawanda PTO President, served on the Ephraim Yacht Club Board of Directors for eight years, and is currently chairing the All-Academy Military Ball.
Amber Morgan – Sustainer Director
Amber Joined the Junior League of Milwaukee in 1994 and currently serves as the Sustainer Chair Elect and is a member of the Junior League Singers. During her active years, she served in a variety of roles including Director of Operations, Director of Pennywise, Treasurer, Finance Chair, Grants Chair, and Training Chair. Professionally, Amber is a mostly retired certified public accountant. Outside of the League, Amber has served on a number of boards including Red Pine Camp for Girls, Gilda’s Club of SE Wisconsin, Fox Point Lutheran Preschool, and as president of both Whitefish Bay MS and Whitefish Bay HS PTOs. She continues to volunteer extensively with a number of other organizations.
